Presenting at: InDialogue2014, 2-5 October 2014, Nottingham

At the beginning of next month (how is it nearly October?!), I’ll be presenting at InDialogue2014, an International Symposium that interrogates how artists and researchers use dialogue in practice. I was invited by academic Dr. Heather Connelly who is currently interested in issues of translation. Seeing my research interests in the translation of other cultures, specifically Chinese contemporary cultures, she thought I would bring in an ulterior, transcultural and internationalised perspective for the event. I’ll be speaking on Friday 3 October at Nottingham Contemporary as part of Panel 1’s discussion into ‘Linguistic Hospitality – intercultural dialogue’ with Fucking Good Art and Dr. Heather Connelly, examining the exchange between China and the UK, the ways in which we can culturally learn from each other, the problematics and successes, then citing ‘The Temporary’, my new transcultural exchange platform examining “temporary” experience in art, architecture, design, sound, performance and culture between the UK and China.
